Hollyoaks hits 7-month high as Nico confesses to Maxine

Hollyoaks scored its best rating since January on Wednesday evening (August 21), overnight figures show.

1.06m (6.2%) tuned in at 6.30pm on Channel 4 to see Nico confess her guilt to Maxine over Carly's murder (+1: 68k / 0.3%), the show's highest figure since January 26 and joint-best audience share of the year so far.

E4's first look Hollyoaks followed with 537k (2.9%) at 7pm and 150k (0.7%) on +1 with the fallout for Nico and her family.

Coronation Street was the top soap of the day, bringing in 6.9m (34.0%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 198k (0.9%) on +1 as Callum and his heavies beat Jason up.

Emmerdale attracted 5.9m (32.1%) at 7pm on ITV and 161k (0.7%) on +1 as Emma started to smell a rat over Ross's disappearance.

Doctors entertained 1.36m (19.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Rob received a shock when he came face-to-face with Weston.

Neighbours grabbed 723k (10.3%) at 1.45pm and 599k (4.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Paige faced another scary ordeal.

Home and Away secured 300k (4.2%) at 1.15pm and 471k (3.0%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look aired to 342k (2.0%) at 6.30pm.
