EastEnders back ahead in ratings on Tuesday evening

EastEnders edged back ahead of Emmerdale in the ratings on Tuesday evening (August 11), overnight figures show.

The Walford soap was the top-rated programme of the day, bringing in 5.86m (32.4%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Ian learned that Liam now knows the truth about Lucy's murder. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 461k (2.8%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale wasn't far behind, claiming 5.81m (34.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 198k (1.1%) on +1 as Bob was arrested for breaking his bail conditions.

Holby City attracted 4.21m (22.0%) at 8pm on BBC One as Elliot clashed with his old friend Brigitte.

Hollyoaks continued with 696k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Robbie slept with Holly after Jason's fall (+1: 69k / 0.4%), while E4's first look followed with 569k (3.4%) at 7pm and 142k (0.8%) on +1.

Neighbours mustered 654k (10.1%) at 1.45pm and 703k (6.0%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Tyler was left heartbroken over Paige once again.

Doctors had 1.3m (20.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Sid's last day at The Mill arrived.

Home and Away entertained 207k (3.1%) at 1.15pm and 548k (3.9%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 303k (2.0%) at 6.30pm.
