Coronation Street topped the ratings on Friday (August 7) with Sally Webster's big mistake, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield soap brought in 6.37m (35.7%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 193k (1.0%) on +1 as Sally made a move on Kevin after being sacked from the factory. 6.28m (31.9%) returned at 8.30pm and 195k (1.1%) on +1 as Sally regretted her brief moment of infidelity.

Emmerdale attracted 5.81m (35.2%) at 7pm on ITV and 221k (1.2%) on +1 as Val returned from the dead to say goodbye to Eric in moving scenes - the show's best Friday rating since February 27.

EastEnders was neck-and-neck with Emmerdale, bringing in 5.8m (31.7%) at 8pm on BBC One as Jane and Ian feared their dark secret would be revealed. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 254k (1.6%) at 10pm.

Hollyoaks interested 648k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Trevor vowed to kill Kim (+1: 77k / 0.4%), while E4's first look followed with 443k (2.7%) at 7pm and 171k (0.9%) on +1.

Neighbours appealed to 660k (9.9%) at 1.45pm and 628k (5.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Daniel decided to fight for Imogen.

Doctors aired to 1.22m (18.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Howard and Emma's romantic weekend went wrong.

Home and Away mustered 210k (3.2%) at 1.15pm and 469k (3.4%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 321k (2.2%) at 6.30pm.
