Coronation Street topped the ratings on Monday (August 3) while Emmerdale was boosted by the launch of its big week, overnight figures show.Corrie pulled in 7.26m (37.6%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 178k (0.9%) on +1 as Sarah received an alarming glimpse of Callum's dodgy world while looking after Max at his flat. The audience increased to 7.43m (36.0%) at 8.30pm and 202k (1.1%) on +1 as Sarah finally saw Callum's true colours.
Emmerdale rose to 6.29m (35.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 119k (0.6%) on +1 as Ross hatched a ruthless plan to ruin Debbie and Pete's wedding. This was the show's best rating since March 23 and highest audience share of 2015 so far.
EastEnders attracted 6.24m (31.3%) at 8pm on BBC One as Phil vengefully attacked Vincent for changing the name of The Albert. BBC Three's repeat secured 325k (1.9%) at 10pm.
Hollyoaks interested 763k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Nico attacked Carly in a fight that got out of hand (+1: 95k / 0.5%), while the fallout brought 525k (3.0%) to E4's first look at 7pm (+1: 81k / 0.4%).
