Lola's exit seen by 6.3 million in Tuesday's EastEnders

EastEnders topped the ratings on Tuesday (July 28) with Lola Pearce's exit episode, overnight figures show.

The Walford soap pulled in 6.27m (33.5%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Lola decided to move up to Newcastle alone after Billy betrayed Jay by having him arrested. BBC Three's repeat of the episode, which also saw Max Branning charged with Lucy's murder, added 301k (1.8%) at 10pm.

Emmerdale continued to perform well, claiming 5.75m (32.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 143k (0.8%) on +1 as Chrissie begged Ross for help fighting back against Robert, unaware that the bad boy planned to double-cross her.

Holby City attracted 4.22m (22.0%) at 8pm on BBC One with the aftermath of Adele's attack.

Hollyoaks entertained 722k (4.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as the Lovedays tracked down Lisa and Leela vengefully handed Rose over to Diane (+1: 58k / 0.3%). E4's first look followed with 650k (3.7%) at 7pm and 141k (0.7%) on +1.

Neighbours grabbed 647k (8.9%) at 1.45pm and 730k (5.6%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as the Brennan brothers' storyline with Dimato came to a head.

Doctors was seen by 1.25m (17.3%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Heston tried to make peace with Zara in the aftermath of the bullying row.

Home and Away mustered 195k (2.6%) at 1.15pm and 565k (3.7%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 259k (1.6%) at 6.30pm.
