EastEnders was Tuesday's top-rated programme (July 21) with more fallout from Ben Mitchell's shock arrest, overnight figures show.

6.32m (35.1%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as Phil appeared ready to betray Ben to DCI Marsden following an emotional conversation with Ian. BBC Three's repeat screening later secured its best figure since June 2 as 510k (3.1%) watched at 10pm.

Emmerdale attracted 5.66m (33.1%) at 7pm on ITV and 193k (1.1%) on +1 as Paddy told Aaron the truth about Robert.

Holby City interested 4.1m (21.7%) at 8pm on BBC One as the day of Adele's engagement party went horribly wrong.

Hollyoaks brought in 763k (4.8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sienna pushed Reenie off the City Wall (+1: 48k / 0.3%). E4's first look followed with 578k (3.4%) at 7pm and 140k (0.8%) on +1.

Neighbours entertained 631k (9.3%) at 1.45pm and 693k (5.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Tyler put himself in danger to bring down Dimato.

Doctors rose to 1.31m (19.3%) for Howard and Emma's counselling session, with the show back on its usual home of BBC One at 1.45pm.

Home and Away continued with 204k (2.8%) at 1.15pm and 566k (3.9%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 296k (1.9%) at 6.30pm.
