Coronation Street was Wednesday's most-watched programme (July 15) with the return of Peter Barlow, overnight figures show.
6.48m (36.7%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 280k (1.5%) on +1 as Peter's late arrival on Deirdre's funeral day led to a big row between him, Tracy and Ken.
Emmerdale continued with 5.2m (32.0%) at 7pm on ITV and 165k (1.0%) on +1 as Carly came up with a sneaky way to get herself out of trouble.
Hollyoaks attracted 663k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Grace had to come clean with Trevor after being caught with Kim. E4's first look followed with 564k (3.5%) at 7pm and 162k (0.9%) on +1.
Neighbours grabbed 565k (9.8%) at 1.45pm and 601k (5.3%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 with the aftermath of Mary's unexpected arrival.
Home and Away dipped to 184k (3.0%) at 1.15pm and 383k (2.9%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 240k (1.6%) at 6.30pm.
