Coronation Street's Todd drama brings in 6.2m on Friday

Coronation Street was Friday's top-rated programme (June 5) as Todd Grimshaw's revenge storyline came to a head, overnight figures show.

6.08m (34.8%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 222k (1.1%) on +1 as Todd plotted to ruin things between Eileen and Adrian, while the audience increased to 6.21m (31.9%) at 8.30pm and 252k (1.4%) on +1 as Eileen and Jason were stunned by the extent of Todd's scheming.

EastEnders attracted 5.62m (30.5%) at 8pm on BBC One as Ian kicked Cindy out after the family said their goodbyes to Beth. BBC Three's repeat had 403k (2.7%) at 10.20pm.

Emmerdale grabbed 5.06m (31.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 170k (0.9%) on +1 as Laurel agreed to attend an AA meeting following her big mistake over Ashley.

Neighbours entertained 562k (8.9%) at 1.45pm and 733k (5.9%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Terese's battles with Ezra continued.

Doctors was seen by 1.14m (18.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Ayesha and Sid went on a date.

Hollyoaks mustered 647k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Ste suffered a drugs relapse after arguing with Sinead, while E4's first look followed with 420k (2.6%) at 7pm.

Home and Away put in another poor performance, dipping to 409k (3.0%) at 6pm on Channel 5 - the show's worst figure since June 20 last year, when it went head-to-head with a World Cup game. The lunchtime screening had 145k (2.3%) at 1.15pm, while 5*'s first look had 223k (1.5%) at 6.30pm.
