Emmerdale's hour-long special was the most-watched programme on Tuesday (June 2), overnight figures show.

5.43m (28.4%) tuned in at 7pm on ITV and 228k (1.2%) on +1 as Ashley's life was left hanging in the balance after Victoria knocked him over in a car accident.

EastEnders suffered a dip due to its clash with Emmerdale and the rival soap's head start, falling to 4.9m (24.2%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Sharon vowed to fight back against Phil's games. BBC Three's repeat screening was later boosted by fans wanting to catch up, securing 658k (3.7%) at 10pm.

During the 30-minute clash period itself from 7.30pm, Emmerdale had 5.21m and a 25.9% share.

Holby City attracted 4.27m (21.7%) at 8pm on BBC One with an upsetting experience for Adele.

Neighbours entertained 651k (9.2%) at 1.45pm and 810k (6.0%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Amber struggled to cope under the pressure of the baby situation.

Hollyoaks interested 757k (4.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Pete's arrival left Porsche traumatised, while the fallout brought 521k (2.9%) to E4's first look at 7pm and 105k (0.6%) to E4+1.

Doctors continued with 1.29m (18.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One as Jimmi became defensive over Al's concerns.

Home and Away mustered 201k (2.8%) at 1.15pm and 604k (3.8%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 319k (1.9%) at 6.30pm.
