EastEnders was Tuesday's most-watched programme (April 21) with the ongoing tension between the Carters, overnight figures show.

6.22m (33.9%) tuned in at 7.30pm on BBC One as Mick interrupted Linda's attempts to get a confession out of Dean on the day of Stan's funeral. BBC Three's repeat screening claimed 323k (2.4%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale appealed to 5.41m (32.5%) at 7pm on ITV and 120k (0.6%) on +1 as the discussions continued over Lachlan's future.

Holby City continued with 4.43m (22.3%) at 8pm on BBC One as Fletch's daughter was admitted to the hospital.

Hollyoaks attracted 771k (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Ziggy failed to follow his heart and went ahead with his wedding to Leela, while E4's first look followed with 548k (3.3%) at 7pm and 117k (0.6%) on +1.

Neighbours entertained 501k (10.1%) at 1.45pm and 705k (6.4%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as the tension between Paige and Imogen escalated.

Home and Away mustered 174k (3.5%) at 1.15pm and 517k (4.0%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look followed with 345k (2.3%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.01m (20.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
