Gavin's funeral seen by 7.5m on Monday's Coronation Street

Coronation Street topped the soap ratings on Monday evening (March 23) with the latest developments in the Fake Gavin storyline, overnight figures show.

Corrie was the most-watched show of the day, claiming 7.52m (36.1%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 139k (0.6%) on +1 as Gail and Andy attended Gavin's funeral. 7.37m (32.7%) returned at 8.30pm and 144k (0.7%) on +1 as Gail had to tell even more lies to cover Andy's tracks.

EastEnders brought in 6.91m (30.9%) at 8pm on BBC One as Martin's troubles were revealed and the Beales returned from their honeymoon. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 299k (2.4%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale appealed to 6.41m (33.0%) at 7pm on ITV and 150k (0.7%) on +1 as Chrissie attempted to make peace with Alicia.

Hollyoaks attracted 912k (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 102k (0.5%) on +1 as Sinead caught Lindsey breaking into Grace's flat, while E4's first look followed with 536k (2.8%) at 7pm.

Neighbours entertained 630k (9.7%) at 1.45pm and 762k (5.2%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Daniel clashed with Harold.

Home and Away managed 202k (3.1%) at 1.15pm and 584k (3.4%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 375k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.62m (25.1%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
