6.28m (31.1%) watched the first 8pm airing on BBC One, according to overnight figures, with a further 395k (3%) tuning in for the 10pm repeat on BBC Three.
Over on ITV, an audience of 5.5m (29.5%) watched Emmerdale at 7pm, as David took matters into his own hands by kidnapping Lachlan. 5.3m (24.9%) saw the evening's second instalment at 8pm, as tensions between the pair escalated.
Channel 4's Hollyoaks aired to 915k (5.3%) at 6.30pm (+1: 83k), as Cindy was accused of blackmailing Dirk. 524k (2.8%) watched E4's first-look episode at 7pm, as Dirk faced further trouble.
Neighbours' latest instalment - showing Harold's continued visions of Madge following the accident - aired to 594k (9.4%) at 1.45pm and 682k (4.9%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5.
Meanwhile, Home and Away's latest episode, where Zac rejected Irene's help despite his struggles in looking after VJ, aired to 170k (2.7%) at 1.15pm, with 501k (3.1%) tuning in at 6pm.
Doctors was seen by 1.29m (20.8%) at 1.45pm, as Niamh made a confession to Emma.
