Emmerdale attracted 6.22m (33.1%) at 7pm on ITV and 157k (0.7%) on +1 with Lachlan's return to the village.
Holby City secured 4.49m (20.9%) at 8pm on BBC One as Jonny stepped in to protect a fellow prison inmate.
Neighbours entertained 673k (9.7%) at 1.45pm and 744k (5.3%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Harold woke up to find Madge by his bedside.
Hollyoaks rose to 840k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as S'avage accused Cindy of blackmailing Dirk, while E4's first look followed with 561k (3.0%) at 7pm as Trevor took a lie detector test.
Home and Away entertained 232k (3.3%) at 1.15pm and 604k (3.6%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look followed with 440k (2.4%) at 6.30pm.
