Roy storyline brings in 7.6m on Wednesday Coronation Street

Coronation Street topped the midweek soap ratings (February 4) with Roy Cropper's turning point, overnight figures show.

Corrie was the most-watched programme on Wednesday, attracting 7.57m (36.1%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 237k (1.1%) on +1 as Roy realised that it was time to scatter Hayley's ashes and start living life as she would have wanted him to.

Emmerdale continued with 6.36m (31.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 174k (0.8%) on +1 as Aaron betrayed Robert by promising to help Katie expose his affair.

Hollyoaks brought in 1.01m (5.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 113k (0.5%) on +1 as Will was murdered by the Gloved Hand Killer, while E4's first look followed with 661k (3.3%) at 7pm and 178k (0.8%) on +1.

Neighbours grabbed 616k (9.3%) at 1.45pm and 897k (5.8%) at 5.30pm as Karl was rushed into hospital.

Home and Away entertained 237k (3.4%) at 1.15pm and 557k (3.2%) at 6pm, while 5*'s first look had 397k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.54m (23.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
