7.23m (34.4%) tuned in at 7.30pm on BBC One as Linda finally told Lee and Nancy the truth about her rape ordeal, while 6.9m (28.7%) returned at 8.30pm to see Shirley finally reveal the full story behind why she pretended to be Mick's sister.
EastEnders' two episodes were the most-watched programmes of the day, while BBC Three's repeats had 398k (2.8%) and 508k (5.1%) at 10.30pm and 11pm respectively.
Emmerdale also did well, attracting 6.56m (32.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 123k (0.5%) on +1 as Jai was revealed to have the wrong baby in another top-secret storyline twist. 6.45m (28.9%) returned at 8pm and 238k (1.0%) on +1 to see the fallout from the surprise revelation.
Hollyoaks interested 986k (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as the Mercedes mystery continued, while E4's first look followed with 706k (3.5%) at 7pm and 149k (0.7%) on +1.
Neighbours appealed to 668k (9.3%) at 1.45pm and 756k (4.8%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 with the latest Turner family dramas.
Home and Away entertained 208k (2.9%) at 1.15pm and 599k (3.3%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look secured 376k (2.0%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.51m (21.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
