EastEnders topped the soap ratings on Thursday evening (December 11) with another big episode for the Carter family, overnight figures show.
6.31m (31.7%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as Tosh left Walford after being dumped by Tina and Sylvie Carter made her first appearance. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 167k (2.2%) at the later time of 11.30pm.
Emmerdale attracted 5.71m (29.6%) at 7pm on ITV as Belle broke into Edna's house, while 5.58m (26.5%) returned at 8pm and 195k (0.9%) on +1 as Belle was shocked to realise that Lachlan had captured her guilt on camera.
Hollyoaks interested 1.08m (5.8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Tegan discovered that she is not the biological mother of baby Rose. The next developments in the 'switched at birth' storyline were seen by 762k (4.0%) at 7pm on E4's first look and 163k (0.8%) on E4+1.
Home and Away appealed to 274k (3.9%) at 1.25pm and 667k (3.9%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 387k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.52m (23.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
