Hollyoaks' train crash storyline continued to boost the show's E4 airing on Wednesday evening (November 12), overnight figures show.
1.1m (5.5%) watched at 7pm on E4 and 235k (1.1%) on E4+1 as the McQueens mourned for Carmel and Dodger heard a life-changing revelation. The show was also the most-watched multichannel programme for the third day running.
Earlier, Carmel's tragic exit scenes brought 958k (5.1%) to the traditional 6.30pm slot on Channel 4. 106k (0.5%) caught the episode on Channel 4+1 an hour later.
Coronation Street was the most-watched soap of the day, attracting 7.84m (37.4%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 211k (1.0%) on +1 as Peter vowed to leave Weatherfield - the show's best Wednesday rating since May 28.
Emmerdale interested 6.36m (31.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 207k (1.0%) on +1 as Priya and Rakesh were caught out by Jai.
Waterloo Road managed 2.75m (13.0%) at 8pm on BBC One as Lenny struggled to cope with the stress of his exams.
Neighbours claimed 640k (9.6%) at 1.45pm and 896k (5.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Daniel's ex-girlfriend Rain made a surprise appearance.
Home and Away's big Braxton week continued with 279k (4.0%) at 1.15pm and 641k (3.5%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 404k (2.1%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.49m (22.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
