Coronation Street put in another strong performance on Monday evening (October 27) as the net began to close in on killer Rob Donovan, overnight figures show.

8.08m (38.1%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 111k (0.5%) on +1 as Carla left Rob in a panic with new questions about the night of Tina's attack. 7.83m (34.4%) returned at 8.30pm and 212k (1.0%) on +1 for the big moment that Rob finally confessed his guilt to Carla.

Emmerdale attracted 6.76m (33.0%) at 7pm on ITV and 106k (0.5%) on +1 as Ali feared that she was carrying Dan's baby.

EastEnders appealed to 6.73m (29.7%) at 8pm on BBC One as Charlie and Ronnie were left shocked by Nick Cotton's return. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 238k (1.8%) at 10.30pm.

Hollyoaks continued with 1.14m (5.8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 114k (0.5%) on +1 as Phoebe was revealed as the mystery culprit sabotaging Theresa. E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 826k (4.0%) at 7pm and 101k (0.4%) on +1.

Elsewhere, Neighbours earned its best teatime rating since Kate's death in April as 958k (5.9%) tuned in at 5.30pm on Channel 5 to see Brennan's attempt to take down Dakota. 646k (8.8%) saw the lunchtime screening at 1.45pm.

Home and Away mustered 207k (2.7%) at 1.15pm and 623k (3.4%) at 6pm on Channel 5, while 5*'s first look had 357k (1.8%) at 6.30pm.

The latest episode of Doctors claimed 1.5m (20.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
