Coronation Street pulls in 6.58 million on Friday evening

Coronation Street was Friday's (September 19) highest-rated soap, pulling in 6.58 million (33.9%) for the 7.30pm showing.

After Peter told Tracy the truth about Jim in the 7.30pm show, a further 6.05 million (28.5%) tuned in at 8.30pm to see the aftermath.

With an average audience of 6.25 million (30.5%) at 8pm, EastEnders wasn't far behind its ITV rival. Jay's confrontation with Phil peaked with 6.4 million.

BBC Three's 10.30pm repeat screening of EastEnders was seen by an average audience of 328k (2.2%).

Back on ITV, 5.41 million (30.4%) watched as Megan was accused of poisoning Noah in the 7pm episode of Emmerdale.

Elsewhere, Channel 5 kicked off a day of soaps with 292k (4.3%) for Home and Away at 1.15pm.

Home and Away's 6pm repeat was seen by 527k (3.4%), while 5*'s 6.30pm first look screening was seen by 336k (2%).

Channel 5's 1.45pm showing of Neighbours attracted 701k (10.5%), while the 5.30pm repeat pulled in 858k (6.4%) viewers.

Over on BBC One, the 1.45pm episode of Doctors was seen by 1.32 million (20.6%).

An average audience of 750k (4.5%) watched as Sienna plotted her escape in Hollyoaks at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Finally, E4's first look screening of Hollyoaks was seen by 657k (3.7%) at 7pm.
