EastEnders fire drama airs to over 6m on Tuesday night

EastEnders' fire drama aired to over six million viewers on BBC One last night (September 16), according to overnight figures.

6.65m viewers (34.5%) tuned in at 7.30pm, as Alfie (Shane Richie) dashed into his burning house to save wife Kat (Jessie Wallace) when his arson plan had unforeseen and dangerous consequences. A further 413k (3.1%) watched the late-night repeat at 10.30pm on BBC Three.

On Emmerdale, 5.74m (33%) tuned into ITV at 7pm, as Charity's lies placed Pete and Debbie's relationship in jeopardy. A further 153k (0.8%) watched on ITV+1.

Hollyoaks attracted an audience of 878k (5.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4, as Trevor and Freddie raced to rescue Grace and Esther.

Meanwhile, 828k (4.7%) tuned in for the first-look episode at 7pm on E4, which featured a shocking revelation in a surprise storyline twist.

On Neighbours, the aftermath of the tornado was seen by 679k (11.5%) at 1.45pm and a further 934k (7.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5, as numerous Ramsay Street residents found themselves in danger.

Home and Away aired to 157k (2.5%) at 1.15pm and a further 624k (4.2%) at 6pm on Channel 5, as Sophie collapsed with a ruptured appendix. A further 374k (2.3%) watched the first-look episode at 6.30pm on 5*, as Heath's custody battle hit fresh complications.

Doctors episode 'Do Unto Others' - which saw Mandy worrying about Catriona's safety following the club incident - aired to 1.4m (23.9%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.

Meanwhile, 4.12m (20%) watched Holby City at 8pm on BBC One, as Raf decided to give Harry a chance to prove himself.
