EastEnders was back above the 6 million mark on Tuesday evening (September 9) as Phil Mitchell reacted to Sharon Rickman's betrayal, overnight figures show.
6.11m (33.1%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as Phil trashed The Arches and fell back into Shirley's arms after learning that Sharon has been conning him. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 332k (2.5%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale pulled in 5.32m (31.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 139k (0.7%) on +1 as Charity remained under pressure.
Holby City attracted 4.25m (21.6%) at 8pm on BBC One as Arthur continued to worry about Zosia.
Hollyoaks appealed to 796k (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Lindsey deceived Freddie, while E4's first look followed with 748k (4.4%) at 7pm and 189k (1.0%) on +1.
Neighbours managed 645k (11.4%) at 1.45pm and 667k (5.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5, as well as pulling in a higher 5* repeat rating than usual with 204k (1.4%) watching at 6pm. Home and Away interested 234k (4.1%) at 1.15pm, 534k (3.7%) at 6pm and 488k (3.1%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.11m (19.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
