Coronation Street accident aftermath brings in 6.6m viewers

Coronation Street topped Wednesday's soap ratings (August 27) with the aftermath of Tyrone Dobbs's accident, overnight figures show.

6.56m (33.1%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 258k (1.1%) on +1 as Jason discovered that Todd's dodgy cutbacks were to blame for Tyrone's injuries.

Emmerdale interested 5.68m (31.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 191k (0.9%) on +1 as Aaron and Adam both decided to face the music.

Hollyoaks attracted 933k (5.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as evil Finn tried to strike again, while the aftermath brought 720k (4.0%) to E4's first look at 7pm and 149k (0.7%) to E4+1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 576k (8.1%) at 1.45pm and 800k (6.3%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away grabbed 226k (3.2%) at 1.15pm, 624k (4.1%) at 6pm and 316k (1.9%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.16m (16.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
