Emmerdale topped the 6 million mark for the first time in over two months in Monday's soap ratings (August 25), overnight figures show.
6.01m (28.9%) tuned in at 7pm on ITV and 112k (0.5%) on +1 as missing April was found by bad boy Ross. The figure was Emmerdale's highest since June 16.
Coronation Street remained the most-watched soap, attracting 6.96m (31.1%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 150k (0.6%) on +1 as Tyrone fell through the ceiling at home thanks to Todd's cutbacks. 6.81m (28.1%) returned at 8.30pm and 168k (0.7%) on +1 as Tyrone was rushed to hospital.
EastEnders claimed 6.18m (26.1%) at 8pm on BBC One as Mick lost patience with covering for Ian. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 372k (2.5%) at 10.30pm.
Hollyoaks managed 1m (5.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Theresa's return episode, while E4's first look followed with 677k (3.2%) at 7pm and 148k (0.6%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, a day of one-off schedule changes for the Australian soaps saw Neighbours entertain 637k (5.7%) at 1.10pm and 771k (4.3%) at 6pm, while Home and Away appealed to 242k (2.3%) at 12.40pm, 449k (2.4%) at 6.30pm and 196k (1.1%) with 5*'s first look at 6.05pm.
