Coronation Street was Wednesday's top-rated soap (August 13) with more obstacles for Gail and Michael's friendship, overnight figures show.
6.36m (33.5%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 217k (1.0%) on +1 as Michael accidentally ran Gail over as they prepared to leave for a picnic. The figure was the best Wednesday rating for Corrie since June 18.
Emmerdale interested 5.24m (30.2%) at 7pm on ITV and 177k (0.8%) on +1 as Ross, Donna and Adam made preparations for a dangerous job.
Hollyoaks attracted 725k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as John Paul rushed to the rescue of evil Finn after Ste kidnapped him, while E4's first look followed with 690k (4.0%) at 7pm and 114k (0.5%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 592k (8.7%) at 1.45pm and 783k (6.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away claimed 264k (3.7%) at 1.15pm, 583k (4.0%) at 6pm and 311k (2.0%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.13m (16.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
