EastEnders topped Tuesday evening's soap ratings (August 12) as the Lucy Beale murder mystery continued, overnight figures show.
5.67m (30.5%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as Lucy's father Ian made an emotional appeal for new information to help solve the case. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 376k (2.6%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale wasn't far behind as 5.47m (31.1%) tuned in at 7pm on ITV and 249k (1.3%) on +1 for Diane's attempts to fix things between Katie and Andy.
Holby City rose to 4.09m (20.6%) at 8pm on BBC One - its highest rating since June 3 - with the arrival of Casualty's Fletch.
Hollyoaks interested 826k (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Dirk and Holly vowed to stick together following Cindy's disappearing act, while E4's first look followed with 774k (4.4%) at 7pm and 179k (0.9%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 570k (8.3%) at 1.45pm and later bagged its best teatime rating since May 7 as 865k (6.9%) watched at 5.30pm.
Home and Away also saw its strongest evening rating since June 10 as 669k (4.5%) watched at 6pm, while the lunchtime screening at 1.15pm and 5*'s first look at 6.30pm had 200k (2.8%) and 262k (1.7%) respectively.
Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.18m (17.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
