Emmerdale and Hollyoaks both had their highest ratings since June on Monday evening (August 11), overnight figures show.
In the start of a big week for Emmerdale, 5.83m (32.9%) watched at 7pm on ITV and 139k (0.7%) on +1 as Andy decided to end things with Katie - the show's best performance since June 16.
Hollyoaks was also up on previous weeks as 959k (5.8%) tuned in at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and 148k (0.8%) on +1 as Cindy had a breakdown in the village, which was the soap's highest figure since June 9. E4's first look followed with 811k (4.6%) at 7pm and 183k (0.9%) on +1.
Coronation Street continued to lead the way in the soap ratings, bringing in 6.99m (36.2%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 121k (0.6%) on +1 as Peter pondered his plea, while the audience rose to 7.23m (33.8%) at 8.30pm and 235k (1.1%) on +1 as Ken celebrated the news that Peter had pleaded not guilty.
EastEnders attracted 5.99m (29.0%) at 8pm on BBC One as the Carters faced a tough time following Cora's outburst. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 254k (1.8%) at 10.30pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 665k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 754k (5.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 223k (3.0%) at 1.15pm, 596k (3.9%) at 6pm and 368k (2.2%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.2m (16.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
