EastEnders topped Thursday evening's soap ratings (July 17) with the latest drama for the Beale family, overnight figures show.
5.11m (30.0%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as the Beales were furious to learn that Billy had become a suspect in the Lucy murder investigation. BBC Three's repeat screening had 363k (2.4%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale wasn't far behind its rival, bringing in 4.93m (29.6%) at 7pm on ITV and 113k (0.6%) on +1 as Priya decided to get engaged to Rakesh, while 4.85m (27.7%) returned at 8pm and 154k (0.8%) on +1 as her plans caused further disapproval.
Hollyoaks managed 781k (5.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the latest developments in the Fraser whodunnit, while E4's first look also had 781k (4.7%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 540k (9.0%) at 1.45pm and 598k (5.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 186k (3.1%) at 1.15pm, 498k (3.7%) at 6pm and 301k (2.0%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1m (17.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
