Coronation Street was Wednesday's top-rated soap (July 2) as Les Dennis's character Michael Rodwell remained at the centre of tension, overnight figures show.
6.26m (32.8%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 331k (1.6%) on +1 as Gail infuriated her family by helping Michael to get a job at Streetcars.
Emmerdale continued with 5.17m (29.3%) at 7pm on ITV and 245k (1.3%) on +1 as Adam teamed up with Ross for some bad behaviour.
Hollyoaks attracted 847k (5.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Darren suffered another health scare, while E4's first look followed with 798k (4.5%) at 7pm and 166k (0.9%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours interested 509k (8.0%) at 1.45pm and 713k (5.9%) at 5.30pm with the latest developments in Libby's return storyline, while Home and Away managed 179k (3.0%) at 1.15pm, 552k (3.8%) at 6pm and 334k (2.1%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
