EastEnders was Tuesday's most-watched soap (June 24) with more drama for the Carter family, overnight figures show.

5.6m (29.3%) watched at 7.30pm on BBC One as Dean caught Shirley stealing from him and Johnny had a bitter argument with Linda. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 447k (4.0%) at the later time of 11pm.

Airing against the England game, Hollyoaks dipped to 655k (3.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with trouble for the Roscoe family on Jason and Robbie's birthday. E4's first look claimed 609k (3.4%) at 7pm and 192k (1.0%) on +1.

Neighbours brought in 540k (8.8%) at 1.45pm on Channel 5 as Matt hunted for Kate's killer Victor Cleary, while the evening airing at 5.30pm managed 672k (4.4%) against the England match.

Home and Away appealed to 185k (2.9%) at 1.15pm on Channel 5, while the evening screenings were also dented by the football with 451k (2.5%) tuning in at 6pm and 243k (1.2%) watching 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
