Coronation Street tops Wednesday soap ratings with 6.5m

Coronation Street easily came out on top in the soaps on Wednesday, overnight data reveals.

The ITV soap attracted 6.65 million viewers (36.7%) at 7.30pm (141,000/0.6% on +1), as Rob urged Peter to leave Weatherfield.

BBC One's EastEnders - which aired on a different day and time than usual due to the World Cup - continued with 5.14m (30.2%) at 7pm, as the truth about Johnny's actions during the robbery was revealed.

On Channel 4, Hollyoaks appealed to 648k (4.0%) at 6.30pm as Sinead made a move on Tony. E4's first-look gathered 532k (3.1%) at 7pm (175k/0.9%).

Earlier, Doctors interested 1.14m (21.0%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.

Channel 5's Home and Away brought in 213k (3.8%) at 1.15pm and 410k (2.7%) at 6pm. 5*'s first-look was seen by 255k (1.6%) at 6.30pm.

Neighbours' latest episode attracted 661k (12.0%) at 1.45pm and 590k (4.7%) at 5.30pm.
