5.5m see Gary's discovery in Friday's 'Coronation Street'

Coronation Street was Friday evening's most-watched soap (June 13), but scheduling clashes and the World Cup led to lower figures all round, overnight figures show.

Airing against BBC One's coverage of the Spain vs. Netherlands game, Corrie brought in 5.46m (23.6%) at 8.30pm on ITV and 411k (2.0%) on +1 as Gary finally learned of Anna's secret deal with Phelan in an hour-long episode.

Emmerdale attracted 4.8m (27.9%) at 7.10pm on ITV and 118k (0.6%) on +1 as Priya continued to seek Rishi's help to find a husband. The second episode of the evening, which was up against the Spain vs. Netherlands match, had 4.72m (22.9%) at 8pm and 206k (0.9%) on +1 as Ross and Donna's robbery plan went horribly wrong.

EastEnders, which clashed with the first Emmerdale for 20 minutes, managed 3.97m (23.1%) at the earlier time of 7pm on BBC One as Aleks's secret was revealed. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 510k (3.1%) at 10.30pm.

Against competition from the Mexico vs. Cameroon game on ITV, Hollyoaks interested 678k (4.3%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sienna rejected Nico, while E4's first look followed with 491k (2.9%) at 7pm and 113k (0.6%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 634k (10.5%) at 1.45pm and 665k (5.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 282k (4.7%) at 1.15pm, 547k (3.7%) at 6pm and 298k (1.9%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.2m (20.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
