7.64m (39.0%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 155k (0.7%) on +1 as Owen arrived back to face Anna following his work trip. 7.23m (31.9%) returned at 8.30pm and 253k (1.1%) on +1 as the couple struggled to move on following Anna's confession over Phelan.
Sandwiched between both episodes, Gail and Me: 40 Years on Coronation Street - which looked back on Helen Worth's long history with the soap - entertained 2.65m (12.9%) at 8pm and 193k (0.9%) on +1.
EastEnders attracted 6.48m (31.4%) at 8pm on BBC One as Max revealed that he saw Lucy and Jake together on the night of her death. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 334k (2.4%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale interested 5.99m (33.6%) at 7pm on ITV and 101k (0.5%) on +1 as Belle's murder trial continued.
Hollyoaks grabbed 985k (6.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sienna's daughter Nico hoped to get closer to her, while E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 707k (3.9%) at 7pm and 155k (0.8%) on +1.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours managed 644k (9.9%) at 1.45pm and 711k (5.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 185k (2.9%) at 1.15pm, 558k (3.8%) at 6pm and 378k (2.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, BBC One's Doctors continued with 1.43m (22.3%) at 1.45pm.
