Coronation Street's 9pm week launches with 8.7m on Monday

Coronation Street had its highest figure since February as the show's big 9pm week kicked off on Monday evening (May 26), overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield soap pulled in 8.67m (36.2%) at 9pm on ITV and 357k (1.9%) on +1 as Tina realised that Peter had turned his back on her again.

Corrie was up 800k week-on-week and enjoyed its best rating since February 10, when 8.87m tuned in to see the police called over Roy Cropper's disappearance.

Emmerdale attracted 6.04m (30.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 199k (0.9%) on +1 as Megan decided to tell Declan everything.

Facing tough competition from the first Britain's Got Talent live show, EastEnders dipped to 5.1m (22.3%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Bianca confronted David and Nikki. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 536k (5.1%) at 11pm.

Hollyoaks interested 870k (4.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as the fallout from Sinead's actions continued for the Roscoes, while E4's first look followed with 712k (3.6%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 518k (5.7%) at 1.05pm and 752k (5.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away's London storyline launched with 261k (3.0%) at 12.35pm and 637k (3.7%) at 6pm. 5*'s first look screening of Home and Away claimed 340k (1.9%) at 6.30pm.
