Coronation Street tops a low-rating soap night on Wednesday

Coronation Street topped a relatively low-rating night for the soaps on Wednesday (May 14), overnight figures show.

6.79m (35.8%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 220k (1.1%) on +1 as Rob remained suspicious over Peter's behaviour.

Emmerdale attracted 5.53m (32.8%) at 7pm on ITV as James confronted Moira over the DNA test results, adding 162k (0.8%) on +1.

Hollyoaks claimed 947k (6.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as the Lomax family were torn apart following Sienna's actions, while more drama in E4's first look grabbed 765k (4.5%) at 7pm and 172k (0.9%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Daniel Robinson's decision to stick around in Neighbours was seen by 569k (10.4%) at 1.45pm and 750k (6.3%) at 5.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.14m (21.1%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
