Coronation Street topped Friday's soap ratings...

Coronation Street was Friday's top-rated soap (March 14) with Carla's pregnancy storyline, overnight figures show.

7.42m (35.7%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 165k (0.7%) on +1 as Carla finally took a pregnancy test with Michelle nearby for moral support. 6.83m (30.3%) returned at 8.30pm and 225k (1.1%) on +1 as Carla was upset to find that the result was positive.

EastEnders attracted 6.81m (30.9%) at 8pm on BBC One as Ronnie told Carl's mum that her son is dead. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 418k (2.9%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.13m (31.4%) at 7pm on ITV and 155k (0.7%) on +1 as Belle continued to struggle with the guilt of Gemma's death.

Hollyoaks had 801k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Patrick's abusive behaviour towards Maxine continued, while E4's first look followed with 648k (3.3%) at 7pm and 181k (0.8%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours appealed to 544k (8.4%) at 1.45pm and 793k (5.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 236k (3.6%) at 1.15pm, 622k (3.6%) at 6pm and 368k (2.0%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.32m (20.6%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
