EastEnders and Emmerdale hurt by Thursday schedule clash

EastEnders and Emmerdale were both dented by their latest schedule clash on Thursday evening (March 13), overnight figures show.

EastEnders, which was up against Emmerdale for 15 minutes, averaged 5.89m (28.2%) from 7.30pm on BBC One as Carl's brother Adam took action against Ronnie by kidnapping baby Lexi. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 449k (3.3%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale's hour-long episode pulled in the show's lowest rating of the year so far, dipping to 5.4m (27.7%) at the earlier time of 6.45pm as Gemma's funeral took place. 184k (0.9%) watched an hour later on +1.

Hollyoaks attracted 839k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sinead and Freddie's attempt to run away with baby Katy made life worse for them. E4's first look followed with 629k (3.3%) at 7pm and 191k (0.9%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 578k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 808k (5.8%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 228k (3.5%) at 1.15pm, 607k (3.7%) at 6pm and 422k (2.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors was seen by 1.44m (22.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
