EastEnders was ahead in Tuesday's soap ratings...

EastEnders remained above the 7 million mark on Tuesday evening (March 11) as Dot Branning received another big surprise, overnight figures show.

Airing against the Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal game on ITV, EastEnders brought in 7.07m (33.2%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Dot's grandson Charlie Cotton introduced himself to her following the shock news about Nick. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 456k (3.5%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.33m (32.2%) at 7pm on ITV and 131k (0.6%) on +1 as Val and Eric hit the rocks again.

Holby City, which was also up against the football, attracted 4.53m (20.0%) at 8pm on BBC One with the first of two-part episode 'Exit Strategy'.

Hollyoaks continued with 951k (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Freddie decided to blackmail Jack, while E4's first look followed with 711k (3.6%) at 7pm and 149k (0.7%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 555k (8.9%) at 1.45pm and 850k (6.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 215k (3.3%) at 1.15pm, 531k (3.2%) at 6pm and 508k (2.8%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors had 1.37m (22.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
