Coronation Street tops Friday's soap ratings

Coronation Street was Friday's most-watched soap (February 21) as the Todd and Marcus storyline continued, overnight figures show.

7.81m (35.4%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 232k (1.0%) on +1 as Marcus finally gave into temptation following weeks of flirting from Todd. However, the evening's second visit to Weatherfield dipped against BBC One's coverage of the Six Nations rugby match between Wales and France, bringing in just 6.5m (28.0%) at 8.30pm and 286k (1.3%) on +1.

Emmerdale attracted 6.45m (31.2%) at 7pm on ITV and 207k (1.0%) on +1 as Kerry attempted to reunite Bob and Brenda.

Hollyoaks managed 860k (4.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as John Paul saved Finn's life, while E4's first look topped the day's multichannel ratings with 794k (3.8%) at 7pm and 173k (0.8%) on +1.

On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 596k (6.9%) at 1.45pm and 780k (4.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away appealed to 233k (2.7%) at 1.15pm, 614k (3.3%) at 6pm and 480k (2.4%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.
