Coronation Street topped the midweek soap ratings (February 19) with Roy Cropper's return to Weatherfield, overnight figures show.

7.57m (33.6%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 299k (1.3%) on +1 as Roy's loved ones were relieved to discover that he is alive and well.

Emmerdale attracted 6.52m (30.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 270k (1.2%) on +1 as Val was distraught to learn of Eric and Diane's one-night stand.

Airing against ITV's Brit Awards broadcast, Waterloo Road dipped to 2.86m (12.8%) at 8pm on BBC One as the students protested over Lula's future.

Hollyoaks interested 924k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Joe Roscoe was revealed to still be alive, while E4's first look followed with 821k (3.9%) at 7pm and 198k (0.9%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, the aftermath of Josh's accident in Neighbours was seen by 611k (7.7%) at 1.45pm and 819k (5.1%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 210k (2.6%) at 1.15pm, 621k (3.4%) at 6pm and 439k (2.2%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, BBC One's Doctors continued with 1.49m (18.9%) at 1.45pm.
