Coronation Street tops the soap ratings on Wednesday

Coronation Street easily topped the soap ratings on Wednesday evening, according to overnight data.

The ITV soap did not appear to be hindered by the earlier 7pm slot, as the aftermath of Hayley's death was seen by 8.07 million viewers (38.0%). A further 534,000 (2.4%) tuned in on +1. This is up from last week's Wednesday episode.

On BBC One, Waterloo Road continued with 2.42m (10.7%) at 8pm. Earlier, Doctors appealed to 1.72m (23.9%) at 1.45pm.

Channel 4's Hollyoaks attracted 1.12m (5.7%) at 6.30pm (107k/0.5% on +1), as Patrick urged Dodger to keep quiet. E4's first-look was seen by 760k (3.6%) at 7pm (151k/0.7%).

On Channel 5, Neighbours interested 770k (10.6%) at 1.45pm and 790k (4.8%) at 5.30pm. Home and Away brought in 210k (2.9%) at 1.15pm and 566k (3.0%) at 6pm. 5*'s first-look was seen by 361k (1.8%) at 6.30pm.
