			EastEnders topped the soap ratings on Tuesday evening (December 17) but dipped back below the 7 million mark against ITV's airing of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, overnight figures show.
6.71m (32.1%) watched EastEnders at 7.30pm on BBC One as Carol was tempted to rekindle her relationship with David. BBC Three's repeat screening later pulled in a higher figure than usual with 690k (4.7%) tuning in at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale attracted 6.18m (31.2%) at 7pm on ITV and 161k (0.8%) on +1 as James and his family moved in with Moira and Adam.
Holby City appealed to 4.31m (19.8%) at 8pm on BBC One as Michael's drastic actions jeopardised his career.
Hollyoaks interested 1.13m (6.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Sienna was arrested, while another shock twist in E4's first look was seen by 836k (4.2%) at 7pm and 268k (1.3%) on +1.
Elsewhere, a new dilemma for Mason in Neighbours brought in 330k (5.1%) at 12.55pm on Channel 5 and 924k (6.0%) at 5.30pm.
