EastEnders topped the soap ratings on Thursday (September 5) on BBC One, according to overnight data.
6.89m (35.4%) people tuned in to watch Max getting arrested for supposedly causing Carl and Phil's car crash at 7.30pm. A further 392,000 (2.8%) watched the repeat on BBC Three at 10.30pm.
On ITV, Emmerdale attracted 6.40m (34.5%) at 7pm (165k/0.8% on +1) as Moira began doubting her son Adam. At 8pm, it dipped to 5.76m (27.9%) as Adam was released on bail (284k/1.3%).
BBC One's Waterloo Road gathered 3.28m (15.8%) at 8pm. Earlier, Doctors brought in 1.41m (24.1%) at 1.45pm.
On Channel 4, Hollyoaks appealed to 837k (4.9%) at 6.30pm. E4's first look was seen by 617k (3.3%) at 7pm.
Channel 5's Neighbours brought in 596k (10.2%) at 1.45pm and 896k (7.0%) at 5.30pm.
