The stunt scene, which left Phil fighting for his life, brought 6.87m (35.8%) to BBC One at 7.30pm. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 546k (3.8%) at 10.30pm.
Emmerdale appealed to 6.48m (35.9%) at 7pm on ITV and 194k (0.9%) on +1 as Declan faced a backlash from the villagers.
Holby City managed 4.81m (22.1%) at 8pm on BBC One with a tough situation for Harry.
Hollyoaks interested 917k (5.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with Myra's shooting, while another dramatic E4 first look had 630k (3.5%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Neighbours secured 502k (7.6%) at 1.45pm and 759k (6.0%) at 5.30pm as Robbo's blackmail continued, while another classic Home and Away airing on 5* entertained 37k (0.2%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.28m (19.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
