Coronation Street was Wednesday evening's (August 7) most-watched soap with the aftermath of Nick and David's crash, overnight figures show.
7.56m (40.2%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV and 449k (2.2%) on +1 as Nick's life hung in the balance after he was rushed to hospital.
Emmerdale interested 6.21m (36.2%) at 7pm on ITV as Laurel finally tracked down the carjacker, adding 325k (1.7%) on +1.
Hollyoaks managed 786k (5.1%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Doctor Browning came close to killing Myra, while E4's first look had 452k (2.6%) at 7pm.
Over on Channel 5, Sonya's shock over 'Uncle Walter' on Neighbours was seen by 582k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 829k (7.2%) at 5.30pm. On 5*, a classic airing of Home and Away brought in 111k (0.7%) at 6.30pm.
Elsewhere, Doctors managed 1.18m (18.5%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
