EastEnders was Tuesday's most-watched soap

EastEnders topped Tuesday evening's (May 21) soap ratings but remained below the 7 million mark, overnight figures show.

6.72m (34.9%) tuned in at 7.30pm on BBC One to see Phil kick Sharon out, while BBC Three's repeat screening secured 577k (4.0%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale appealed to 6.1m (33.2%) at 7pm on ITV as Vanessa had a decision to make over Rhona, adding 206k (1.0%) on +1.

Holby City brought 4.66m (22.4%) to BBC One at 8pm as Sacha's world was turned upside down.

Hollyoaks mustered 806k (4.7%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Callum was shot at Price Slice, while the aftermath on E4's first look had 595k (3.2%) at 7pm and 167k (0.8%) on +1.

On Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 639k (9.6%) at 1.45pm and 883k (6.4%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away mustered 296k (4.3%) at 1.15pm, 626k (3.9%) at 6pm and 433k (2.5%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.4m (21.2%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
