Coronation Street tops Friday evening's soap ratings

Coronation Street was Friday evening's most-watched soap as David Platt's epilepsy was revisited, overnight figures show.

The night's first visit to Weatherfield pulled in 7.79m (37.1%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 142k (0.6%) on +1 as David suffered a seizure while at the park with Max and Joseph, while 7.56m (32.1%) returned at 8.30pm and 243k (1.1%) on +1 as Nick rushed to help.

EastEnders attracted 6.51m (29.3%) at 8pm on BBC One as the pressure mounted on Ian. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 480k (2.9%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.35m (33.7%) at 7pm on ITV and 145k (0.7%) on +1 as David tried to get together with Alicia.

Hollyoaks managed 788k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the aftermath of Texas's murder, while 571k (3.0%) saw the reveal of the killer on E4's first look at 7pm.

On Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 605k (8.6%) at 1.45pm and 851k (6.0%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away had 239k (3.4%) at 1.15pm, 657k (4.1%) at 6pm and 459k (2.7%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.4m (19.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.

I caught the second episode last night; all I can say is, I'm glad I normally miss it!
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
