'Coronation Street': 8.7m tune in for Karl plot on Wednesday

Coronation Street continued to perform well on Wednesday evening (April 10) as killer Karl Munro struggled with his guilt, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield soap pulled in 8.71m (39.5%) at 7.30pm on ITV as Karl lost his temper while looking after Simon, Asha and Aadi, adding a strong 524k (2.3%) on +1.

Emmerdale interested 6.75m (33.8%) at 7pm on ITV and 336k (1.6%) on +1 as Amy found out about Kerry leaving Sarah and Jack home alone.

Hollyoaks attracted 964k (5.2%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with the latest developments in the Browning and Clare plot, while E4's first look had 673k (3.4%) at 7pm.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours entertained 622k (8.5%) at 1.45pm and 918k (6.2%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away secured 229k (3.0%) at 1.15pm, 647k (3.7%) at 6pm and 491k (2.6%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.41m (19.4%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
