Coronation Street tops Wednesday evening's soap ratings

Coronation Street was Wednesday evening's (March 13) most-watched soap as Katy and Ryan took one risk too many, overnight figures show.

8.35m (36.0%) watched on ITV at 7.30pm as Katy and Ryan were caught out by Gary, adding 367k (1.6%) on +1.

EastEnders' extra midweek edition pulled in 7.04m (31.1%) at 8pm on BBC One as Bianca protected Liam by lying to the police. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 411k (4.1%) at the unusual time of 11pm.

Emmerdale interested 6.68m (30.2%) at 7pm on ITV and 218k (1.0%) on +1 as Rhona and Paddy continued to clash over Vanessa.

Hollyoaks appealed to 1.19m (5.9%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Kevin and Maxine's escape plan was thwarted by Walker, while E4's first look had 736k (3.3%) at 7pm and 150k (0.7%) on +1.

On Channel 5, Neighbours grabbed 701k (9.5%) at 1.45pm and 898k (5.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away entertained 773k (4.2%) at 6pm and 521k (2.6%) at 6.30pm with 5*'s first look.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.47m (19.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
