Coronation Street tops Wednesday evening's soap ratings

Coronation Street was Wednesday's evening's (January 16) most-watched soap as Kylie's baby dilemma came to a head, overnight figures show.

The Weatherfield drama pulled in 8.86m (37.4%) at 7.30pm on ITV and 295k (1.2%) on +1 as Kylie had to make a decision over what to do about her pregnancy.

Emmerdale, meanwhile, attracted 7.77m (34.1%) at 7pm and 131k (0.6%) on +1 as Alicia and David brought their sham relationship to an end.

Hollyoaks appealed to 1.1m (5.0%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Dodger continued to struggle with Will and Texas's betrayal, while E4's first look had 676k (3.0%) at 7pm and 124k (0.5%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours mustered 744k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 1.01m (5.9%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away secured 730k (3.6%) at 6pm and 462k (2.1%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, the latest episode of Doctors was seen by 1.78m (21.7%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.
