EastEnders topped the soap ratings on Thursday above rival soap Emmerdale.
The Albert Square arrival of Cora's daughter Ava attracted 7.33 million (a 33.1% share) to BBC One at 7.30pm, while 540,000 (3.5%) caught BBC Three's 10.30pm repeat.
Emmerdale's high-profile double bill, which saw Katie get stuck down a mineshaft, pulled in audiences of 7.08m (32.9%) at 7pm (+1: 134k) and 6.9m (28.4%) at 8pm (+1: 192k).
EastEnders has bounced back after being soundly beaten by its ITV rival in a clash last Thursday.
Elsewhere yesterday, Hollyoaks took 1.04m (5%) and 568k (2.6%) for E4's first look, while Doctors averaged 1.44m (19.4%) earlier in the day.
Neighbours mustered 816k (11%) at 1.45pm and 854k (5.1%) at 5.30pm for its latest instalment, and Home and Away had 649k (3.4%) and 495k (2.4%) on 5*.
